OUR TROOP

Who We Are

Troop 533 was first chartered by Andover United Methodist Church in Andover, Kansas (a suburb of Wichita) in 1948 and has been active in the community ever since. We meet in our Scouthouse every Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. unless otherwise noted. Troop 533 has a long and distinguished heritage of providing guidance, learning and enjoyment for its membership through the Scouting program.

   LEADING YOUTH TO LIFELONG VALUES

Troop 533 is well known for its active monthly outdoor program, Summer Camps, High Adventure trips (Philmont, Northern Tier, SeaBase), commitment to community service, and care for the environment. It is highly respected by the Scouting community and is a proud member of the Quivira Council BSA and the High Plains District . Troop 533 is an active organization and as such, relies heavily on the voluntary participation of parents and trained adult leaders for the implementation and continuation of this exciting program for boys.

Boy Scouts Uniform

Typical “Class A” Uniform

Scouts wear a “Class A” or a “Class B”  uniform.  The Class A uniform is the official BSA uniform.  The Class A uniform is worn on more formal events such as troop meetings, reviews, honor ceremonies, etc.

The Class B uniform is anything such as a T-shirt or sweatshirt with “Troop 533” or “Boy Scouts of America” on it.  The Class B is worn for less formal events such as campouts, during the day at Summer camp, work projects, etc.
