Troop 533 is well known for its active monthly outdoor program, high adventure trips (Philmont, Northern Tier, SeaBase), commitment to community service, and care for the environment. It is highly respected by the Scouting community and is a proud member of the Quivira Council BSA and the High Plains District . Troop 533 is an active organization and as such, relies on heavily on the voluntary participation of parents and trained adult leaders for the implementation and continuation of this exciting program for boys.

Boy Scouting, one of the traditional membership division of the BSA , is available to boys who have earned the Arrow of Light Award and are at least 10 years old or have completed the fifth grade and are at least 11, but not yet 18 years old.
