About Our Troops
Welcome to Scouting America in Andover, Kansas
Scouting America is the premier youth development program for outdoor skills, character building, leadership, and ethical decision-making. Operating out of our historic local Scout House, Troops 533 and 1533 provide a welcoming, adventurous environment where youth build confidence and lifelong friendships through hands-on experiences.
Whether camping under the stars, mastering wilderness survival, or serving our local community, our scouts learn by doing. We empower young people to take charge of their own journey and discover their true potential.
Rooted in Tradition,
Growing for the Future
Troop 533 (Boys):
Founded in 1948, our boys' troop was originally chartered by the Andover United Methodist Church. Since 2021, Troop 533 has proudly been chartered by the Andover Rotary Club, continuing a decades-long tradition of community service, high-adventure trekking, and outdoor excellence in the Andover area.
Troop 1533 (Girls):
Founded in 2023, our girls' troop works closely alongside our boys' troop. Sharing resources, joint campouts, and ambitious high-adventure goals, Troop 1533 offers local young women the exact same path to leadership, rank advancement, and outdoor adventure.
